SUMMARY- You get the tree, gift, and candy cane designs as shown on the cover photo. Instructions are symbolic notation with written notes in English, and a diagram that gives the order in which the split rings are tatted. They did not state anywhere whether ornaments made from their designs might be sold, but they did give a contact address, so I'll try and get in touch with them and see if they did any more of these booklets. I think their designs are well done and the instructions look like they'd be easy to follow. These would be terrific for tucking into your Christmas cards.
NEW(May 12, 2021): One of the email addresses still worked, and I was able to get in touch with Diane Saunders - there's been a name change since she first published. Good news is she has been considering getting back into the designing business. Bad news is she's not quite there yet, but will let us know when she's back up and running. Her website is lying fallow at the moment, but it's still there, so you can get a peek at her original designs. If you are lucky enough to have the patterns, you do have permission to sell the tatting you make from them(and you won't forget to include the name of the designer, right?) I do not currently have permission to give out her email address to interested tatters, but I am willing to forward any requests to her.
NEW(Aug. 2024): I finally got to meet Diane at my first ever Palmetto Tat Days, where I got hugged my more strangers than I have ever been hugged in my life. Jane Eborall had warned me I was well known in the tatting community, but I didn't believe her. It was a shock, but not an unpleasant one. I went because I was determined to meet one of my heroes, Jane Eborall, and it was the last time she was going to fly across the "big pond". I would never get another chance. Bonus was getting meet other of my heroes, like Karey Solomon, and Martha Ess! I met so many people, and I was a bit overwhelmed by it all, but I am so happy I went! It turns out that Diane not only had the 3 tatted holiday ornaments with her, buth two more booklets of patterns as well! So I finally got my own sets of Diane's patterns to add to my collection and to review here. I'm very grateful to Anitra Stone for bringing them to my attention, and allowing me to borrow hers to write this original review. All three of the reviews will be under Diane's married name Saunders.
