SUMMARY- You get more very well illustrated tutorials at the beginning of the book(see Table of Contents). Mrs. Patterson uses symbolic notation AND gives you nice clear diagrams - I don't think you can ask better than that! She uses beads in one of the projects and a wide variety of techniques in the rest. I love her sense of humor and the wide range of techniques she employs to make her unique designs. I have only one quibble - I only count seventeen(17) patterns, not eighteen(18)! Still, I was very pleased to add this one to my collection.
