SUMMARY- The patterns are diagrammed, but not written. Some advanced techniques are used, like cluny, mignonette, and block tatting. Some crochet is used as well(though not much). I bought the book for the hat pattern, and was really delighted to find the mitten pattern as well(the mittens use mignonette) - they are especially lacy looking. This is the 4th book of theirs I've picked up, and I'm never disappointed. I have both the English edition and the English/German/Dutch text original edition.
