SUMMARY- I've been wanting to add this book to my library for quite some time, but never had the money and access to a copy at the same time. I have strongly resisted the urge to collect shuttles, except as tools to be used to make tatting. I have watched many an auction go by wistfully. But I already collect books, and they already take up all my excess time, energy and money. So I live vicariously through other people's collections, oohing and awing in earnest over the newest treasures brought in for my guild's inspection. This book has a great deal of information packed into its pages, and I felt was well worth the price of admission. If you have a mystery shuttle and would like to know more about it, there is an excellent chance you can find out more from this book. And it's just a fun read - if you like tatting, the history of invention, and the ingenuity that goes into such humble devices. I highly recommend this book.
