SUMMARY- I bought this out of curiosity off e-bay, having no idea what to expect from the limited description given. It was originally released in pdf format. Looking through it, I was surprised to see a dimpled ring rosette - I didn't think dimpled rings went back that far. There is some surprisingly sophisticated design in this excerpt. The tatting was often combined with other disciplines to get the desired effect. Instructions are written out fully, and the illustrations often are detailed enough you can count the stitches. For a book that is over 140 years old as of this writing, it holds up remarkably well. I could have wished for more bibliographic detail with the excerpted chapter - but your mileage may vary. I was pleasantly surprised with this find.
