Title: Old and New Designs in Crochet Work: Book No. 1
Author/Designer: Sophie LaCroix
Format/Publication Date: TPB:1913(price 25 cents)
Publisher: St. Louis Fancy Work Co., St. Louis, MO
Page Count: 31
Book Dimensions(ht. x w.): 10 1/2" x 7 3/4"
ISBN: None
SUMMARY- There's a great variety of crochet in this booklet and one page of token tatting patterns. Instructions for all the examples are not given(either for the crochet or tatting), and there were no instructions in the book that I could find for ordering them, so I have no idea how a woman in 1913 would have felt about this book. There are a huge number of lovely samples, and only a few of them have instructions provided for them. Were crocheters and tatters expected to be comfortable figuring out the instructions for themselves based on the sample provided, or would they be as annoyed as I am?..
