SUMMARY- Emiko Kitao is my favorite Japanese designer. The table of contents is in her native language, so I was unable to provide this. Unfortunately, there is no English translation of Ms. Kitao's books(as of this writing(July 2019). There is the occasional English word thrown in, and the steps are in English numerals - but the patterns themselves are all in Japanese. They are diagrammed, however, and that doesn't need to be translated! An experienced tatter will be able to figure out most of the patterns from the excellent photos and diagrams. Some of the patterns in this book are reprinted from previous books, but there are enough new designs here to make it worth your while.
I'm not sure I can emphasize enough what an amazing talent Ms. Kitao has for tatting design.
Patterns(to the best of my ability to describe them): 11 sets of edgings/floral motifs, two-color blouse collar, blouse cuffs, 3D Boutonniere, 5 tiny 3D shapes, 4 more edgings, 4 bracelets, 2 necklaces, 9 gorgeous flower sprays, 4 small floral wreaths, 4 3D flowers w/ different "mesh" backgrounds, 4 butterfly (finger)rings/matching earring sets, 5 floral chains/2 matching earring sets, 9 floral chains/2 matching bracelets, 3 graduated medallion necklaces, necklace(on cover), 4 ribbon medallions.
Ms. Kitao's other work is really worth pursuing if you like small motifs and can read modern diagrams.
