SUMMARY- I believe the blue-covered early Clark Thread Company books are part of the larger series of Coats' books. I believe I have enough samples from this early period to say this. There is a red-covered series of books from Anne Orr confusing the issue. The blue covers switch between Frances Harris and Anne Orr very early on and by Book 10, are not crediting anyone at all for the designs given. This one is credited to Frances Harris. Since the advertisement for other books in this series goes up to ten, it's a good guess that this was a much later printing. Iva Rose Vintage Reproductions says their edition has 55 pages. I do know that my current copy does not have the pattern for the mat shown on the cover.
Because its copyright date falls before 1923, it is in the public domain. Good quality reproductions may be purchased at a reasonable cost from Iva Rose Reproductions, or if you are okay with a pdf, you can probably find it at Internet Archive or
Antique Pattern Library .
