SUMMARY- The introduction let me know that the SCVQA started in 1975 - only two years before they started publishing this series of impressive quilt designs. I can easily see why this series of self-published books were on the QNM's 15th Anniversary Top 100 Quilting Books List. Design after design is so graceful - you're going to want to make more than one. These books are very hard to find. My favorite block in this collection by far is Mickey Corbett's "Dreaming Calico Cat." Yes, there's a cat - but it isn't the focus of the block, the dream is. There are so many delightful suprises here - probably more so for those with more quilting experience than I have. If you come across any of this series, run don't walk to the cash register. You're going to want to take this one home.
