SUMMARY- Keep in mind when this was published, and that it was typed on a typewriter - and not an electric one. She does include some illustration, and a handful of grainy black-and-white photos. She imparts a lot of information in a straightforward manner, and at the end, she gives you a good list of quilting books that she found helpful - and she gives a short paragraph review to tell you why it's on her list. I think this is a great book for a historical perspective - she published this just a few years before the big revival hit and everyone spontaneously decided to make centennial quilts for 1976. Her book was perfectly placed to be an important resource of the time period.
