SUMMARY- The premise of this book is 1)you have a sewing machine, but not one of those big quilting machines, and 2) you want to make a big quilt and it not take 10 years of hand-quilting or paying someone to quilt it for you. They give 4 reasonable methods for piecing your top and quilting it yourself, and after many years of experimentation using the old "quilt a block at a time" method that fell by the wayside. I read through their instructions, and they seem clear and followable. Their quilts are mostly patchwork with applique added for interest to some. I was particularly attracted to "Cat Nap," which pictures the silhouette of a cat on a simple striped quilt, with feathers gently floating about the rest of the quilt.
