SUMMARY- If you like structure to your design process instead of seat-of-the-pants I'll-just-make-it-up-as-I-go-along sorts of creativity, this book would be quite useful to you. I like how his mind works, and he explains himself very clearly - you just have to be patient and actually read what he's saying. There are projects in this book, but I think they are beside the point. He teaches some basic principles and strategies for design using one of the oldest and simplest of classic blocks, the nine-patch, and he does some fascinating things with it. I'm surprised Mr. Kollinger hasn't written more books. I think it's a shame that this is the only one so far. I'd love to see what he does with other design challenges. He clearly has talent.
