SUMMARY- It took a while to get through the Table of Contents. I added all the individual projects and if a designer's name was given, it is in parentheses after the name of the project. I am always hardest on books that have "dictionary", "compendium", "complete guide" and "encyclopedia" somewhere in their title. That is a whole lot of promise, and few books live up to it. I give this one a "yes - and no". The yes, because it covers a wide spectrum of different types of origami and exposes you to a wide variety of designers from all over the world. It has an okay essay on the history of origami. The projects are both engaging and profuse - you do get a lot of bang for your buck. I also say no, though, because you don't get diagrams, but pictorial tutorials for folding all the designs given, which doesn't help you one whit when you move on to other origami books that Do use diagrams. And there is no bibliography. That is damning, in my experience. If you're going to do a book with this kind of scope, you can spare a few pages to list your sources.
