SUMMARY- Yes, I've played with steampunk - one of my first jobs was as a costumer for a small Shakespeare-in-the-Park troupe. They didn't pay well, and had a miniscule budget for my department, but it was a whole lot of fun. It was as though life had given me life-size Barbies and Kens to dress up and play with. I was on first-name basis with the owner of every thrift shop in the city(there were only 4) and they would call me if any velvets, brocades or linens came in, along with any other interesting bits they thought they might be able to unload. I went on from that summer into a lucrative Halloween season doing custom costuming for people who had real money and wanted to look good. I bragged that I could make anything that you could give me a picture of, and it was rare that I was stumped. And my costumes FIT. I can tell you with a great deal of enthusiasm that this book is great! Their pieces work well for the genre and I've seen plenty of the right gew gaws for sale in craft stores to do this, so hunting down the components won't be quite as hard as it was in the past. I'm including this book with their other toy books because I think any of this could be miniaturized for dolls.
