PATTERN RATING: There are four patterns(one's a miniature), all well marked. Three of the patterns are designed to mix-and-match parts. You get a tiny photo of each as reference.
INSTRUCTION RATING: Instructions are well broken down and you get photo illustration to go with them. They go over all the choices and give great instruction for each.
BONUS MECHANICS RATING: Ms. Merrett includes a nice section on designing your own patterns that is pretty well laid out, and gives good illustration for her points, so she gets some bonus stars!.
SUMMARY- This was a solid book. The patterns offered in this book were pretty generic, but her instructions are really well done. I would recommend this book to anyone learning bearmaking.
