Title: Designing and Making Dolls
Author: Ilse Gray
Publication Date: HC:1972
Publisher: Watson-Guptill Publications, NY
Page Count: 96
Book Dimensions(ht. x w.): 9 3/4" x 7 1/2"
ISBN: 0823029913

PATTERN RATING:Star Rating Patterns are all gridded but have to be enlarged A LOT to be useful. They have minimal markings. There is a section of photo plates in the middle of the book that shows off the finished toys, and they are all pretty engaging. Faces are embroidered or appliqued and there is no real hand or foot detail on any of the dolls, so if you're looking for those fine details, look elsewhere. These are solid ragdoll designs.

INSTRUCTION RATING:Star Rating Instructions are broken down by body parts - sort of - and have good illustration throughout. I wouldn't give this book to a rank beginner, though.

SUMMARY- Ms. Gray was a solid ragdoll designer with a creative and colorful flair. This is a solid book.
