SUMMARY- This is a compilation of a few of Mrs. Randall's column that ran in "Popular Needlework" through the last half of the 1960's. Mrs. Randall never blocked her samples and wasn't married to the idea of uniform picots, so her samples always looked a bit rough to me. She also didn't use chains or any advanced techniques, so her edgings and medallions were always pretty simple fair. It didn't help that Tower Press always used the cheapest possible newsprint to publish on. Despite the drawbacks, she worked untiringly at teaching new tatters and encouraging the art by keeping it in print during a time period when tatting was considered a dying art.
