PRISCILLA
The popular women's magazine "Modern Priscilla" published a large number of craft booklets as well - three of which were exclusively for tatting. They've been reproduced and republished in many different places. I've moved the listing and reviews of the booklets to this page so that you don't have to scroll so much to get past them - there were about 50! Most of the booklets are for needlework disciplines other than tatting, but I will list them all on this page along with the reviews for those I actually have original copies of. I've put the tatting booklets at the top of the list, and placed the rest in alphabetical order by title. "Modern Priscilla" stopped publication in June 1930, and was folded into another popular women's magazine of the time, "Needlecraft: The Home Arts", which enjoyed regular publication for another decade after the merger.
I've slowly been reviewing more of the books as I find them. It's been a slow slog as some of these are quite rare. I'd love to find the hardbound set that the Priscilla Publishing Company put out called "Priscilla Library of Fancy Work". The oldest one I have is from 1899, and advertised only 9 other titles on its inside back cover.
NOTE: In June 2021, I've finally made it to the halfway point of finding all of these titles and adding them to our currated archive! There's still a long ways to go, but I was happy to realize we'd reached a significant marker, and wanted to preen a bit...
