SUMMARY- I believe this may be the first book that concerned itself with right side/wrong side tatting. The illustrations have elements of the design emphasized, which distorts the views. There are three(3) doily patterns, four(4) edgings, and two(2) insertions. P.P. creates a snaking chain by changing which thread is her core thread - directional tatting! The cover may be unpreposessing, but the innards are fascinating. I'm going to have to spend more time with this book studying the written pattern instructions and maybe make a few samples.
