SUMMARY- Ms. Morton is a shuttle tatter. She uses traditional written notation in this book but gives diagrams to back up her written instructions. You get crisp black-and-white photos of each pattern sample. You get a small collection of floral medallions in this collection of patterns, including a Tudor rose that I like a lot. Beads are incorporated into a few of the designs, but she employs lots and lots of picots for embellishment for the most part in this particular collection.

This book is impossible to find for sale now, but don't despair. All of the patterns from her first four books were compiled and reprinted in a perfect bound edition, Tatting Patterns(ISBN: 1-86108-261-4), which is still in print as of this writing...

Something else you should know about Lyn Morton: She ran a small business selling thread, including the metallic threads she used in Tatting Patterns. She sold this supply business to Barbara and Robert Murdock, making it a legacy business. Threads Galore
