SUMMARY- Some folks were raving about this one on Craftree, which alterted me there was a new book out of Korea. I'm so happy I was able to snag a copy of this one. There is a huge amount of eye candy here. Ms. Mi-Kyeong uses traditional elements, but also likes to play with newer ones, like leapfrogging picots, which I've only seen in Japanese tatting books, along with dimpled rings(they look like hearts), block tatting, onion rings and clunys. She gives you an amazing diversity of medallions, doilies and mats, all in wonderful colors and great photography to show them off properly. You get good diagrams, so not being able to read the Korean is not a handicap for an experienced tatter. With the variety of advanced techniques this designer employs, definitely not a good beginner's book, other than as something to aspire to. But the main claim to fame(as though the wealth of gorgeous patterns weren't enough) of this book is the inclusion of QR codes. Capture the image with your cell phone camera or webcam, and use whatever software you have (There's freeware at this site: http://www.codetwo.com/freeware/qr-code-desktop-reader/?sts=1375 ) to send you to her website and the relevant tutorial! The cherry on top for me, is the bright yellow pineapple doily pattern - which her cat is sleeping on in her blog, but not in the book. Clearly, the cat has discerning taste. I highly recommend this book.
