SUMMARY- Ms. Kwartnik is a needle tatter, and gives a lesson in the basics first. I can't read Italian, but her illustrations are fantastic - very clear and easy to follow. You get a nice assortment of ornament patterns, the nativity set as seen on the cover, an angel similar in size and style as the nativity set, and a couple of Christmas Tree patterns to be made from felt, that are then decorated with small tatted stars. It's a little bit different from other Christmas decoration books, and I liked that the patterns were relatively simple. I think anyone with a grasp of the basics could handle the patterns, which have diagrams to augment the written(in Italian) instructions. The sewing patterns are layered over each other to save space, and are not well marked - but the patterns are for simple shapes, so I can only grouse about that so much. Over-all, I was really pleased to add this book to my collection, and saw several patterns I'm looking forward to making myself.
