Title: Lovely & Classic Tatting Knot Accessories Author/Designer: Meruhen Art Studio
Format/Publication Date: TPB:2007
Publisher: Ondori Press, Japan
Page Count: 64
Book Dimensions(ht. x w.): 10" x 8 1/4"
SUMMARY- I was able to get a translation of the names for the artists who contributed to this book(Thank you, Hitoshi!): Kumiko Kosakai, Mami & Mineko, Akiko Nishimura, Yoshie Ichikawa, Narumi Katou, Mitsue Kawara.
Instructions are all in Japanese(even the numbers), so while there are some new techniques in here that intrigued me, I couldn't make hide nor hair of the instructions that went with all the nice pictures and diagrams. There's a variation on the roll stitch that I hope a translation is done for eventually. Designs are for various jewelry elements - most fairly simple looking.
Tatting in Japan seems to have really taken off. I've been seeing more and more innovative designers publishing from that country. I hope someone gets wise and starts doing translations of more of them. I'd happily rebuy most of what I already have in a language I understand! Ondori Press has been around for a long time(several decades). They have a healthy reputation in craft books.
