SUMMARY- This is not a tatting book! This is the second time I've run across a beading book that creates faux tatted jewelry(the first being Sandy Forrington's two books dedicated to the subject). I find it interesting that tatting has entered the mainstream enough that more than one jewelry designer has chosen to go after the "look" of tatted jewelry as their end goal, rather than using tatting as the skill to create beaded jewelry. It would be a mistake to buy this book thinking it is more of the great tatting renaissance going on in Japan during this time period, but it is an interesting fun house reflection. The designs look like traditional tatting, but with no thread showing.
