SUMMARY- Ms. Foster has reproduced several key books that had become scarce. She is an expert in the history of the field, and a pioneer in the art of needle tatting. I admire her greatly. The pages of this book were excerpted from two publications:
1. Lady Duff-Gordon's "Book of Crochet Edgings and Insertions"(1917)
2. Sofia T. LaCroix's "Old and New Designs in Tatting and Crochet Braids"(1913)
Since it is a republication of two books from the early 20th century, there are no diagrams, and the instructions for these traditional pieces are in old written notation that isn't broken down at all. I still think they're well worth the time and trouble. I love these old books, and I love that people like Ms. Foster and Ms. Kliot and Iva Rose Publications have worked to make a lot of these old gems available again. Thank you.
