SUMMARY- I was very happy to run across this at the Antique Pattern Library, and will be hunting for an original copy to add to the Bibliography Project collection. I've been told this may be the first published work exhibiting block tatting. I don't know if this is true. I'll have to do some digging. What I do know is that there are six(6) very original medallions and 39 unique edgings - most of which incorporate block tatting as a design element. There's lots of eye candy here. The bad news is that instructions aren't provided to make the candy. Good news is that the photography is good enough you may be able to work out the patterns using a magnifying glass or blowing up the photos on a graphics program. The samples in this book must have been revolutionary at the time - they certainly don't conform to the standards of traditional tatting. This one is well worth seeking out, and you can download a free pdf of it from the Antique Pattern Library. If you like the service they provide, please consider making a donation to help it continue.

I've added an original edition to the Bibliography Project collection!
