SUMMARY- You get 54 split ring snowflakes. Colored Diagrams are used instead of written patterns, and are well laid out and easy to follow. The color in the diagrams lets you know where the split rings split, and the rings are numbered so you know where to start and can easily see where you are going - I don't think you can get better than that! Having just finished making all the motifs in another book that is diagrams only, but with no color coding or care in the layout, I can doubly appreciate the thought and care that went into the preparation of this book. I resisted trying split rings for a very long time, but when I did finally try them, discovered I'd really been missing out on a very useful technique that is both versatile and not any more difficult than making a mock ring. Karen has seven books out now, as of this writing, all having to do with using split rings to make pixilated fabric. This is a great collection to tat from for small tuck in gifts for your Christmas cards, or to hang on your own tree. I'm excited enough about it to let it cut in line before the other snowflake books I've got on my list. I'll let you know how they tat up by the end of the year(2018).

Oct. 2018: I've finished tatting all the snowflakes from this book for my big snowflake sampler project! I'd have gotten done a lot sooner, but I was already halfway through the book when I decided doing all of them in size 80 rather than size 40 would allow me to get them all on the same page of the sampler book. So, I've done half of them twice. None of the errata are likely to throw anyone except maybe Motif #52's TOR60 - that mistake was subtle and might catch someone by surprise. Here's the few errata I found:

Page 7, Motif #5, SR14: Missing "6" on Side A
Page 13, Motif #13, SR89: Missing "3" on Side A
Page 14, Motif #14, TOR2: Numbering of ring is same as SR2 - should be TOR3 and all following rings should be plus 1 to their numbering;
                     SR6(corrected): Missing a "3" on Side A
Page 22, Motif #26, SR8: "A" and "B" are reversed
Page 23, Motif #27, SR61: "3  3" should be "6" - there is no join there
                     SR80: "12" should be "9 - 3", there Is a join there
Page 26, Motif #30, SR91: "9" should be "6 - 3", there is a join there
Page 47, Motif #52, TOR60: Direction of work is reversed - should show counter-clockwise, instead of clockwise
                     SR149: "6" and 12" should be reversed
Page 48, Motif #53, SR70: "A" should be on the red "6"
Page 49, Motif #54, SR156: "6" and 12" should be reversed
                     SR163: "3  6" and "9" are reversed

And for those few out there who might be interested, if you do all 54 motifs, you will have done 4,206 rings or 75,708 stitches. You get a lot of bang for your buck with this book. :)
