SUMMARY- I ran across one of Mrs. Bierwirth's snowflakes(the one in the middle of this cover) on ebay, and was so impressed with the design that I couldn't resist sending her an e-mail expressing my appreciation for it. It's not easy to get that many picots to behave! She sent a thank you note back, and mentioned she was also selling the patterns on Etsy - so of course I promptly went there and ordered the book. There is great photography, large print so I don't have to squint, and she uses written notation with lots of extra notes to make tatting the patterns easier. She doesn't provide diagrams or symbolic notation, so non-English speakers may have problems following the patterns. Not all the patterns in the book are shown on the cover. These are patterns I think anyone with a grasp of just the basics could handle - and well worth trying. I loved all the designs, and her snowflakes are going to get their own page in my snowflake sampler project. In fact, I loved this book so much, I immediately ordered the other three books she has available, and I will certainly buy any others she puts out. If you haven't run across Lacemakermom on Etsy, you've missed out. I think she has a great talent for design. I highly recommend this book!
