SUMMARY- Ms. Albee didn't provide a Table of Contents, or number the pages, so I don't know if the copy I was able to borrow is complete. That's the bad news. The good news - this book is AWESOME. It is for the most part reprints of patterns published in her newsletter "Tatting Knots and Notes". She does a great job of citing her sources and giving credit to the original designers, and chose patterns that are genuine eye candy. But the best pattern was a design of her own - a pineapple doily she calls "Pineapple Heaven" that is nothing short of amazing. Georgia Seitz published a smaller version of this doily in her book "Tatting With Friends". Ms. Albee gives a bunch of original designs for Christmas decorations and edgings as well, then gives patterns she gleaned from such magazines as "Country Gentleman", "The Modern Priscilla", "Star Needlework Journal" and "Needlecraft". She also published patterns from Tina Frauberger's Schiffchenspitze, and from Marie Antoinette Hees' fifth book. She often updated the pattern notation and did fresh samples to include, rather than rely on the samples given in the magazines.

Georgia Seitz gives a lovely memorial on BellaOnline

I wish I had a run of her newsletters, but am glad I finally got to see her book. It was well worth tracking down a copy to peruse. Now I just need to find one to buy!

ADDENDUM: In 2018 I came across a small handful of her newsletters, so I've started a review page and catalog for the issues.
