SUMMARY- Instructions are very brief. The patterns are well laid out and within the grasp of novices. It isn't a serious problem if the pullout section is missing, since they reprinted the patterns(the nail layouts) on the last 4 pages. You can expand the layouts to the size you want on a copy machine.
