SUMMARY- All interior photographs are in color. You get a great overview of the 1970's and early 1980's arcade games, which a lot of us still have a lot of nostalgia for. It's sad to realize it was such a short time period - how quickly the industry rose and then fell victim to the home game market. There was joy to be found in fighting the machine and trying to keep the game going on a quarter! Sure the graphics are (very) rough compared to today's standards - it was part of the charm. The author gives concise descriptions of the games that made his timeline, and he does hit the highlights with accuracy. I have only one complaint - there is no further reading list of places to visit at the end of the book. This is the first of the USA books I've been able to lay hands on and read, so I'm hoping this was a unique oversight and not a decision the Shire Books publishers went with for the whole USA line.
