SUMMARY- All interior photographs are black-and-white. You get a brief history and an overview of this favorite passtime. I was very amused to learn there was an angler's stall (The Hardy Bros) at the 1894 Crystal Palace Exhibition. I know something of this exhibition because of my interest in Mdmlle Riego's Irish crochet and tatting work that was displayed there. This was a fun read - but I spent a lot of lovely hours fishing trout out of the Colorado River and later the pond we had. I watched my father's frustration with trying to tie his own flies for fly fishing when I was young. Overall it brought back a lot of memories as I read. It made me smile.

I love that they always give you a list of further reading and places you can visit to help satisfy your curiosity on the subject. If I were ever able to take a real vacation, I would do it with a handful of these books in hand!
