SUMMARY: Every pattern is heirloom quality and wonderfully complex in look. It would take a long time to complete any project. There was zero pandering to the lowest common denominator - clearly why this title folded after exactly 6 issues, with a single tatting article in the very last issue - but I'm not bitter. Much. Diane Brakefield has a few cross-stitch designs in these issues - proof of quality of this title. Hers is a name I learned to admire in the pages of "Needle & Thread" and "Needlecraft for Today".

The tatting article is by Linda McCarthy. You get some great introductions to more out-of-the-Way needle arts like ribbon work, hardanger and cutwork. I felt it was worth the price of admission for that alone. It is primarily a cross-stitch/embroidery magazine, but sprinkled with other things as well. I just wish there had been more of them...
