SUMMARY: This is a newsletter for the North American Quilling Guild . It is available only through membership. They do not have a lending library, but they do make the entire run of newsletters, including the original recruiting letters that Pat Caputo sent out, available to their membership! This newsletter contains patterns, supplier information, news about the craft and its artists, special information on their yearly convention, lists of articles and books - everything you'd want in a newsletter about your craft! I am looking to see if they have an index, but so far I'm not seeing one. If I end up not finding one as I read through the newsletters, then I'll start cataloging them here so articles can be looked up. I will remind folks that I'm not a pattern clipping service - I cannot clip articles or patterns for you from this newsletter as it is under copyright still. But membership fees are reasonable, and I believe well worth the price of admission.
Leigh's Note: I had to wait about a month before they processed my membership, but I signed up in August of 2021 - still in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. The long delay could have been due to this. Just in case, be a little patient. They do get there in the end.
HOW TO MAKE THIS MAGAZINE CATALOG SEARCHABLE:
METHOD ONE(downside is it takes some effort and time):
1. Open a blank page in your favorite word processing program.
2. Right click and "SELECT ALL"
3. Right click and "COPY"
4. "PASTE" or CTRL"V" what you copied into the blank page(it could take a while depending on the size of the page)
5. Use the search function as you normally would. Try to stick to only one word, since authors will sometimes use their middle initial, then not, change names, etc.
6. Trash the blank page when you're done.
METHOD TWO(downside is you have to wade through a lot of HTML code to read the entries):
1. Right click and "VIEW SOURCE". This will bring up a second window that will give you a behind-the-stage look at my coding along with the entries. There is a search function on source pages.
Use it as you would the search function for a word processor(see METHOD 1). Close the Source page when you're done.
