SUMMARY- Yes, this is a role-playing game(RPG) supplement - but it is a great RPG supplement that provided a good overview of different types of armor, including chainmail. You get a little illustration of simple 4-ring chainmail, along with barred chain, augmented mail, and double mail. The information is meager, but the illustrations would allow you to figure out the pattern for basic chainmail, and even put in a little dimple on each ring to suggest the rivets that were used in medieval times to hold the rings closed. One of the things I love about this book is the great bibliography at the end. This was part of a series of books Palladium put out. I'll list the other books below.

The Palladium Book of Weapons and Castles of the Orient(Matthew Balent)
The Palladium Book of Contemporary Weapons(Maryann Donald)
The Palladium Book of Weapons & Castles(Matthew Balent)
The Palladium Book of Weapons and Assassins(Erick Wujcik) Exotic Weapons(?)
European Castles(?)
