Stuffed Cloth Dolls
Suppliers and Further Reading
Title: Cloth Dolls for Textile Artists Author: Ray Slater
Publication Date: HC:2008
Publisher: Interweave Press, Loveland, CO
Page Count: 128
Book Dimensions(ht. x w.): 11" x 8 3/4"
PATTERN RATING: You get only one stuffed doll pattern. There are no seam allowances given except on the side of the head pieces. You get the grainline marking(which I think is important) but no other markings to help the sewer. There are instructions on the pattern pages on how much to enlarge the pattern pieces on a photocopier.
INSTRUCTION RATING: Instructions are pretty well broken down and easy to follow.
SUMMARY- You get instructions on a variety of different types of dolls and techniques for clothing and decorating them - all of which you are encouraged to design yourself from scratch rather than give basic patterns to work off of. This book falls into the Culea school with lots of color and creativity bursting out of the dolls in a dramatic way.
