PATTERN RATING: Star Rating. Patterns need to be enlarged, but are gridded to help the crafter. They have the old a-b-c type markings, along with other markings to help BUT not the seam allowances. There is a nice variety of patterns, most of which are babies of the animals they represent, not the adult animal. There isn't as much detail as I would like on most of the toys.

INSTRUCTION RATING:Star Rating. The instructions have very little illustration to go with them, and I think with gusseted toys you really need to show the crafter what you're talking about. I debated a long time on whether to give the instructions a third star, and decided that this book didn't quite make it to that solid ground.

SUMMARY- There is a nice variety of designs here if you're looking for some general patterns. There wasn't enough detail and character to the toys to really hold my interest.
