Title: The Teddy Bear Book Designer: Marsha Evans Moore
Publication Date: HC:1984
Publisher: Arco Publishing, Inc., NY
Page Count: 168
Book Dimensions(ht. x w.): 10" x 9 1/4"
PATTERN RATING: The heirloom bear patterns are full-sized, but in order to save space, they overlapped the pieces one on top of each other like I've seen in so many Japanese pattern books - very annoying. However, if you can keep straight which markings go with which pattern piece, they are well marked with seam allowances, grainlines and dots and notches. You get an excellent clean photo of the finished product to study. The clothing patterns and other bears need to be enlarged, but are gridded, and still pretty well marked. There's a nice variety of styles and sizes, including a crocheted and a knitted bears. Included are a number of bear-related projects like quilts, pillows, crib mobile, kitchen accessories, etc. There is sooo much to do from this book.
INSTRUCTION RATING: Instructions are broken down into body parts then further into numbered steps. The instructions are very well illustrated to help the crafter and look like they would be easy to follow.
SUMMARY- This book even gives you recipes, many of which look quite tasty. If you are a lover of teddies, this book will definitely appeal to you. There's a huge wealth of different projects of both teddies and teddies as a decorating theme.
