"Bo Peep" Doll, and Lamb
Title: Making Moppolls Author: MJDesigns
Publication Date: TPB:1990
Publisher: MJDesigns, Irving, TX
Page Count: 19
Book Dimensions(ht. x w.): 11" x 8 1/2"
PATTERN RATING: This is a somewhat unfair rating, as these are mixed media mop dolls, and not rag dolls. You get the basic head pattern, the head for the Bo Peep's sheep and the vest for the Indian Maid, all of which have fairly minimal markings - but then they are minimal patterns.
INSTRUCTION RATING: Instructions are broken down into a few steps, and you get great illustration with the basic construction directions but none with the specific dolls.
SUMMARY- These are mixed media mop dolls, and do exhibit some personality despite that - I usually find mop dolls to be very generic. I should mention that I expected to hate the projects before I opened the booklet - my bias about designers not willing to sign their work. It makes me believe the designer feels it's not their best work - which annoys me that they then wish to fob it off on me. Despite this strong bias, I still didn't find this a bad book. Still not my thing, but your mileage may vary.
