PATTERN RATING: Star Rating. This isn't a pattern book, hence no rating. It is instead a showcase of different artistic methods and the effects that can be achieved with them.

INSTRUCTION RATING:Star Rating. Explanations of techniques are brief but concise. They are at least useful to the point of launching experiments into the subjects they demonstrate.

BONUS MECHANICS RATING:Star Rating. The artwork shown in this book really dates itself. Thumbing through it, you could name the year without ever looking at the copyright! With that said, it was still mildly worthwhile to read for the variety of disciplines it showcases.
