Title: Sew a Circle of Friends: Adorable Cloth Doll Projects
Author: Anne McKinney
Publication Date: TPB:1997
Publisher: Sterling Publishing Co., Inc., NY
Page Count: 128
Book Dimensions(ht. x w.): 11" x 8 1/2"
ISBN: 0806986115
PATTERN RATING: Patterns are for pretty primitive dolls, with mitten hands and stump feet - if it's not a stump doll. There is a wide variety if you like this style. Patterns have minimal markings without grainline or seam allowances. Some tell you whether you need to enlarge on the pattern piece(and give you a percentile), but most don't, and they are not gridded.
INSTRUCTION RATING: Instructions are broken down by body part into paragraph chunks, with little to no illustration to guide the crafter. Despite the primitive patterns, I don't recommend this book to beginners.
SUMMARY- I admit I wasn't taken with the style of these patterns, which I think of as sort of "Country Rustic," but your mileage may vary. She does provide a nice variety of this style along with a few accessory projects that look nice.
