PATTERN RATING: . The patterns are a mix of full-size and shrunk. Those that are not full-size are on grids for the crafter's convenience. she uses the a-b-c method of marking as well as half-notches, with some notation to help. Seam allowances are not marked on the patterns themselves. Her designs hold up very well, and can be both funny and charming. It's not a bad book to own for making presents for kids.
INSTRUCTION RATING:. Instructions are pretty sketchy with little to no illustration, but most of the patterns are also pretty basic. Still, if you don't know what you're doing already, the instructions won't help.
SUMMARY- she has some cool techniques, like how to present the pads on the bear paws, that are excellent detail, but the book's main focus is making Ms. MacLennan's designs.
