PATTERN RATING: Star Rating. The patterns are already full size and use the old a-b-c method of marking. The patterns have an amazing amount of detail and capture the Lewis Carroll characters perfectly. The pictures of the toys themselves was worth the price of admission. Ms. Hutchings has an amazing talent.

INSTRUCTION RATING:Star Rating. The instructions are thorough and have illustration where needed - especially where needle-sculpting is involved, but if you don't already know what you are doing, it might be difficult still to make these very detailed toys.

BONUS MECHANICS RATING:Star Rating. This book is about making the characters from the Alice in Wonderland books, but the techniques necessary to create these wonderful toys, if not new, are at least not as often practiced. The effects she creates are stunning. This book is one I treasure.
