PATTERN RATING:Star Rating You get 4 art doll patterns and a "Blue Chickie of Happiness". Ms. Hertzi decided to doodle on the pattern peices rather than provide any sewing information. These are definitely art dolls, not play dolls. Patterns are all in one section of the book separate from the instructions. The patterns go into the ditch, so the spine is likely to be broken if you try to get a clean unwarped photocopy of the pattern pages.

INSTRUCTION RATING:Star Rating Instructions are well broken down and well illustrated. You get good tips and interesting suggestions for different things you can try throughout.

BONUS MECHANICS RATING:Star Rating This book works to foster a certain style of creativity and shows many different methods of going about it. I felt it had earned an extra star for this.

SUMMARY- This is an interesting book to read with contributions from quite a few well established artists: Inez Brasch, Patti Medaris Culea, Sue Farmer, Cody Goodin, Linda Hansen, Jan Hayman, Judith Harmon Hertzi, Barb and Doug Keeling, Kathy Kenny, Elizabeth McGrath, Leslie Molen, John Murphy, Rosei Rojas, Rivkah Rosenfeld, Isabella Zambezi. This is book is for making a certain style of art doll, not play dolls.
