PATTERN RATING:Star Rating There is a mix of cloth and wood doll patterns, but all are done in the 'primitive' style. Sewing patterns are pretty well marked(except no grainline), but you don't get instructions on how much to enlarge patterns except in the "Preparing the Patterns" section - I like for that information to be on the same page as the patterns so that I don't have to do a lot of hunting for the information.

INSTRUCTION RATING:Star Rating Instructions are well broken down, easy to read, and have a generous amount of illustration - often photo illustration - for steps taken in basic doll-making.

SUMMARY- If you are a fan of primitive style dolls, and want to try your hand at doll making, this is a great starting place. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow.
