Title: How to Make Wild Animals Author: Jane Gisby
Publication Date: Trade:1992
Publisher: Search Press Ltd.
Page Count: 48
Book Dimensions(ht. x w.): 10 1/4" x 7 3/4"
PATTERN RATING: . The patterns are laid out on grids, and have enough markings to help the crafter. The Polar Bear reminds me of the baby polar bear in the Coke commercials. It's very cute. The elephants have a gusseted mouth, which adds a lot to the toy. The patterns have nonstandard seam allowances (1/3" or 1/5", instead of 1/4") - which you wouldn't know from looking at the patterns. Ms. Gisby would have gotten another star except for this. Her toys look great.
INSTRUCTION RATING:. The instructions are very basic, with no illustrations to help you out.
SUMMARY- This book isn't about designing toys, it's about making up the patterns she gives you, and there's quite a few for just 48 pages. The book does what it sets out to do, and the pictures of her samples are great.
