PATTERN RATING: Star Rating. All the patterns will need to be enlarged, but are on grids for convenience. They are all designed to be made from felt pieces and are disguised learning games for very young children. They look like fun. They'd look more fun if there had been more than a token six pictures of the toys stuck in two-thirds of the way back in the book. I was beginning to think the only picture of the toys would be the murky one on the front cover. Most of the toys just give an illustration to represent how the toy will look when made up. Patterns have no markings on them at all. This book really hurt itself by not giving ample enough pictures of the toys.

INSTRUCTION RATING:Star Rating. Instructions are step by step and fairly brief, but the toys are very simple. Still, if you don't already know what you are doing, the instructions won't really help you much.

SUMMARY- I wanted to like this book a lot more than I did - and I think it was because of the lack of photographs. The front cover is awful, evidently selling you on the smiling girl rather than the toys they appear to take great pains to not show - which mystifies me. The toys look like they'd be very engaging, and the few pictures they hid in the back look great.
