PATTERN RATING: Star Rating. The patterns are laid out on grids for ease in expanding them, but that is about all there is to recommend them as patterns. They have few markings other than to show you which way to lay them on the fabric. This book is unique in one respect - all the toys use quilting techniques in their construction, which gives them a very different look from any other toys. I like the Frog Prince Mask and the Badger especially.

INSTRUCTION RATING:Star Rating. The instructions are clear if a bit brief, and have illustrations to go with them.

SUMMARY- The toys are well-made and interesting, the quilting adding an unusual dimension to the book. I might not make up any of the patterns they gave me, but I certainly may lift some ideas, like the Stacking Bunnies. The book deserved a star for inspiration.
