PATTERN RATING:Star Rating Patterns are full-size but have very minimal markings (i.e.- no seam allowances, dots, a-b-c's). At least the grainline is marked, but that's about it - and these are not small dolls. There was plenty of room. There are great color full page photos of all the dolls made up. There's a great variety of doll's clothing here that's really sharp, which is why this book merits the fourth star.

INSTRUCTION RATING:Star Rating The instructions are broken down into body parts(or clothing parts) and there is excellent illustration throughout. I still believe you would have to have some experience to use this book.

SUMMARY- This is actually one doll pattern with 20 different face templates and clothes to match. Hands and feet are mittens. The examples are very well made up and the faces expertly embroidered. If you like this sort of doll, it's not a bad book to pick up. But if your embroidery skills are a little shaky, you may want to give it a miss, as most of the character is in the embroidering of the doll's faces.
