Title: Tittmouse Cottage Designs: Make your own irresistible characters from easy-to-follow, full-size patterns Author: Christine Brooke
Publication Date: Trade:1992
Publisher: Greenhouse Australian Crafts
Page Count: 56
Book Dimensions(ht. x w.): 10 1/4" x 7 1/4"
PATTERN RATING: . Most of the patterns are full-size, and the few that aren't, the page tells you they've been reduced by 50%(so you could easily blow them up on a copier without having to guess by how much) and are on grids, if you don't have access to a copier. Seam allowances aren't marked on the patterns themselves. They are all anthropomorphized mice, with most of the personality and detail in the accessories, rather than in the mice themselves. They are cute as well, but I try not to hold that against them. If you're into cute and anthropomorphism, this is a great book to have.
INSTRUCTION RATING:. Her instructions are very clear, and very well illustrated. I'm not sure I'd throw this book to a rank novice, but lots of illustration of the steps goes a long ways toward allaying any misgivings I might have.
SUMMARY- This book is all about making the mice patterns she gives you, and does that extremely well. Expecting her to deviate into pattern design would just be greedy.
